Folsom's holiday lighting splits into two experiences: individual cul-de-sacs where neighbours go all in, and Historic Folsom's Sutter Street, where the shopfronts and street trees are decorated for the season. Together they make an easy evening — dinner on Sutter Street, then a short drive to a court display.

Displays are put on by private residents and volunteers, so streets, hours and start dates change from year to year. Most Sacramento-area neighbourhood displays switch on around the first week of December and run nightly through New Year's — check locally before you drive out.
