October is Sacramento's second holiday season

Halloween keeps getting bigger around Sacramento. Neighborhoods like the Fab 40s in East Sac, Westpark in Roseville and Laguna in Elk Grove pull in crowds of trick-or-treaters, and the front of the house has become part of the show.

The catch is the work. Hanging Halloween lights in early October, taking them down on November 1st, and climbing back up for Christmas a few weeks later means three trips up the ladder in about eight weeks. A permanent system does all of it from your phone.

Our Minleon lights sit in a slim channel under your eaves. Each LED can be any color, so you can run a friendly pumpkin glow all month, go full haunted house on the 31st, and switch straight to harvest gold the next morning.

Spooky season in Sacramento

Halloween has become one of the biggest decorating holidays of the year. Orange, purple and eerie green rooflines set the tone for trick-or-treaters, and effects like flicker, lightning flashes and slow color fades make the house feel alive.

Run a calmer harvest orange through early October and switch to the full spooky scene for Halloween week. After the 31st, change to warm white for Thanksgiving — no ladders, no storage bins.

Trick-or-treat night tips

On Halloween itself, brighter lighting helps kids see walkways and steps safely. Many clients run their spooky scene at full brightness from sunset until around 9 PM, then switch to a dim orange glow so the street knows the candy is gone. Add a warm white zone on the porch for safety without breaking the mood.

Halloween lighting questions

Can I schedule Halloween colors for all of October automatically?

Yes. Set an October schedule once in the app — the lights come on at sunset, change to your Halloween night routine on the 31st, then switch to harvest or warm white on November 1st.

Will my HOA allow Halloween colors?

Most Sacramento-area HOAs care about permanent fixtures, not seasonal colors. The Minleon channel is color-matched and nearly invisible by day, and you can keep a static, low-motion profile. We're happy to help with your HOA paperwork.

Is it bright enough to light the walkway for trick-or-treaters?

Yes — the same LEDs can run bright warm white for safety or full color for decor. Many homeowners light the porch and walkway in white and keep the roofline spooky.

Do I need a second install for Christmas?

No. It's the same system. Halloween in October, Diwali or harvest colors in November, and Christmas from Thanksgiving onward — with no ladders and nothing to take down.
